The City of Alameda Fire Department's Preventive Services Division is responsible for reviewing, updating and enforcing fire-related codes and ordinances. Activities carried out by this division include code compliance inspections of all occupancies except single-family and duplex dwellings, vegetation management inspections, the regulation of household and business-related hazardous waste and the enforcement of hazardous material storage.
