Fingerprinting service is performed by Jail personnel whose first priority is the safe operation of the Jail facility. Live Scan and fingerprinting applicants should be aware that there is a possibility of delays due to Jail operations. In the event there are delays, every effort will be made to reschedule at the earliest convenience.
Paperwork
The applicant must have the Live Scan / fingerprinting paperwork in hand or he/she will be turned away and will have to reschedule for a later date. Live Scan / fingerprinting paperwork must be filled out completely.
Photo ID
Every applicant must be in possession of a valid form of photo ID to be Live Scanned. Only a driver's license, state ID card, military ID, permanent resident card (green card) or passport will be accepted.
Students with only school ID must come with their parent and an acceptable form of ID. Temporary DMV printouts or similar ID's will not be accepted for any reason or at any time.

Payment must be in the form of CASH or CHECK.
VISA or MasterCard accepted with the exception of Thursday nights & Saturdays when the records department is closed.
Appointments
Live Scan / Fingerprinting are by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call (510) 337-8433 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Free two-hour parking is available for applicants in the Oak Street parking lot in between the Police Department and City Hall. Please note that parking must be in a marked "public" spot.
Each 15 minute appointment allows for the processing of one Live Scan Application or for processing up to three Ink Cards. Additional appointments will be required for additional needs. Applicants need to arrive a few minutes early.
Note: Late applicants may have to wait or will be rescheduled for a different date and time.
