Clean Water Program: Protecting the San Francisco Bay

water2The discharge of pollutants to the storm drain system (stormwater pollution) is the leading source of water pollution in local creeks and the San Francisco Bay. To maintain the health of the Bay, federal and state laws require Bay Area cities to reduce stormwater pollution.

Report_A_Spill_Logo_smallThrough the implementation of its Clean Water Program, the City of Alameda is committed to performing appropriate municipal services and to providing Alameda residents and businesses practical solutions to help reduce stormwater pollution. We need everyone's help. If you see a spill or illegal dumping, report it!





The Clean Water Program is using a multi-faceted approach to prevent stormwater pollution.
Program elements include:

Anything other that rainwater that enters storm drains may be harmful to people and the environment.
