Recycled Motor Oil

Recycling used motor oil is an excellent idea since oil never wears out. It gets dirty -- but once cleaned (re-refined), it can be used over and over again. 

Alameda County Industries (ACI) has provided residential curbside pickup of used motor oil and oil filters since 1997. Used motor oil can be placed in one gallon screw top containers next to recycling carts for pick up on any regular service day.

ACI provides used oil jugs and oil filter bags free of charge. The City of Alameda provides absorbent bilge pads to local marinas upon request.

Certified Collection Centers
Residents can also drop off used motor oil at Alameda's Certified Collection Centers and earn $0.16 per gallon.
