Intermediate Book Club
The Intermediate Book Club is for children in grades 3-5 and meets the first Monday of every month at 3:30 p.m. in the Childrens Program Room at the Main Library. Programs last 45 minutes and include games, discussion, and a light snack.
Advanced Book Club
The Advanced Book Club is for children in grades 5-8 and meets the second Monday of every month at 3:30 p.m. in the Children's Program Room at the Main Library. Programs last an hour and include games, discussion, and a light snack.
Beginning Book Club
The Beginning Book Club is for children in grades 1-3 and will meet the third Monday of every month at 3:30 p.m. in the Children's Program Room at the Main Library. The program will last 45 minutes and include games, discussion, and a light snack.
Teen Book Group
Choose which books to read and talk about, socialize (snack provided), receive your own paperback copy of each book! Sign up at the Main Library Reference Desk or call (510) 747-7713. Sponsored by the Friends of the Alameda Free Library.
Alameda Library Book Club

Paws to Read
Main Library. Would you like to read to a friendly dog? Children in kindergarten through fifth grade have the opportunity to read to some amazing listeners who love to relax while listening to a good book. All the dogs involved in the program have been certified, passing temperament and sociability tests. Sign-ups are required.

Free Homework Coaching
Free homework coaching on all subjects for students in grades K-5 is being offered at the Main Library, the West End Library and the Bay Farm Island Library. After school, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., high school students are available to help younger students with their homework. The program is offered on school days, except for minimum days and test days. Please contact each library for schedule of coaching availability.
Lawyers in the Library
Local attorneys, through the Alameda County Bar Association, offer free legal assistance and referral the first Wednesday night, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. of each month. Sign ups begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Reference Desk. Names will be drawn via lottery at 5:50 p.m. Call (510) 747-7713 for more details.

Community Sing Along
