Friends of the Parks Foundation

This 501(c)3 non-profit foundation was formed to assist the Alameda Recreation and Park Department through a number of fundraising activities. Included among these was the publication and sale of "Alameda at Play", a book which chronicles the history, acquisition, and development of Alameda's park system.

The group’s mission statement is to "improve the quality and increase the availability of recreational activities and programs in the City of Alameda and to maintain the parks therein.”

Friends of the Parks meets at 6:30 p.m. in Room 360, City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, the second Thursday of the month in March, June, September and December. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
